The pageant is divided into three categories: the swimsuit, evening gown and the all in one final Question. Following the Top 16 (15 semi-finalists and 1 online-voting winner) was announced, the pageant will automatically proceed to the sexy swimsuits and based on the swimsuit; 10 will be named. The 10 candidates will leap forward to evening gown and from their performance on that segment the Final 5 will face the judges and try to answer their Questions. On Wednesday night, Olivia Culpo, who was crowned Miss USA in June, will compete with 88 other contestants in the 2012 Miss Universe Pageant.

Culpo, 20, has been busy traveling the country since she was named Miss USA in June and dealing out extensively to prepare for the Miss Universe competition.

"For Miss USA, I felt more pressure to be lean," Culpo told the Boston Herald. "Here, they’re bigger and taller. The appearance of Miss Universe is more voluptuous.”

Culpo said she does a lot of "cardio, jump rope, etc." She also said she eats "a lot," but healthy foods like "proteins, whole wheat and oatmeal."

"Nothing fried, no chocolate, no peanut butter," she said, admitted she is dying for Christmas tree-shaped Reeses after the competition.

The Rhode Island native put her studies at Boston University on hold to carry out her responsibilities as Miss USA, including extensive work with the Cure 4 the Kids Foundation. At Boston University, Culpo was a sophomore honors student and a cellist, based on her bio page.

Culpo, whose parents are musicians, has become playing the cello since elementary school. Culpo admitted that when she was young, she was short and chubby, and spent summers at band camp for the cello.

The brunette beauty also admitted that she didn't even enter a beauty pageant until she was 19-years-old, only one year before being crowned Miss USA.

“It’s more than just looks. It’s about confidence and work ethic and being open to others. People think it’s narcissistic, that it’s just about appearance," she said.

Fans can vote for Culpo, or other contestants in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant, at the Miss Universe website until 6 p.m. EST.

Almost ten years when the sleeping powerhouse of beauties in Asia has finally awakened and able to collect titles and crowns across international pageants; Philippines went back into the pageant map when their official representative Venus Raj bagged the 4th runner-up put in place Miss Universe 2010 pageant held in Las Vegas. The good fate continues as the Philippine-flag again unveiled when Miss Universe 2011 pronounced their representative Shamcey Supsup as 3rd runner-up. A good way to go for the Filipina beauty as the legacy continues.And also this year, Philippines will be represented by the 23 year old beauty Queen from Bataan, Janine Tugonon. Janine Marie Tugonon was first joined in Bb. Pilipinas 2011 where she ended as 1st runner up of Shamcey Supsup. Not that lucky on her first attempt, Tugonon made a decision to join again and this time she hit the mark and successfully won the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2012 crown gaining her way to the upcoming Miss Universe 2012 pageant. Joining other delegates, Janine is expected to be in Las Vegas this December for the MU 2012 Pageant. Throughout the local pageant, I call Tugonon as the Q&A front-runner because of her well instituted answers on various questions. She is indeed articulate which will be a great part on her success of granted. on the coronation night, Jose Manuel Romualdez asked Tugonon the question: “Many women nowadays forego a happy family life for a successful career. How do you feel about this?”

Tugonon replied: “I think that women have the right to choose between what they want. But for me, you’ll have to go for what God has called you to do, whatever it is, between your two. You must do what your purpose is in this world. Just have a child-like faith and mature obedience, and everything should go smooth.”, Tugonon said. 

 

2 years consecutively: (2008 and 2009) when Venezuela bagged the Miss Universe crowns and gaining their total reputation in Miss Universe pageant over the 6 decades, yet after the glorious back to back victory, Venezuela get doomed when the crown get burped out of their hands in these past two years (2010 and 2011) when their representative failed to be in the top during the pageants. The 21 years old Goddess from Sucre is the official representative of Venezuela in the upcoming Miss Universe 2012 Pageant. Irene Sofia Esser is undoubtedly a complete package to win again the crown. Her walk is superb. Her body figure is breathtaking. Her facial beauty is goddess-like. No could ever tell that they is not stunning because she really is. Born is Puerto Ordas, a huge town in Sucre where she has grown up in the rich and well comfortable family. Irene’s father is the owner of the largest Cacao plantation in the whole state of Sucre while her mother is a politician and parttime model.

Standing 5 feet and 10 ½ inches tall, Esser could locate her spot within the semi-finalists. her sash factor and abilities on stage will tell the judges that she is eager to enter the top 5 this year. Could Venezuela win again the Miss Universe crown?

Finally, one of the most awaited appearance of Miss Universe 2011 -3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup is released on the internet.
