Almost ten years when the sleeping powerhouse of beauties in Asia has finally awakened and able to collect titles and crowns across international pageants; Philippines went back into the pageant map when their official representative Venus Raj bagged the 4th runner-up put in place Miss Universe 2010 pageant held in Las Vegas. The good fate continues as the Philippine-flag again unveiled when Miss Universe 2011 pronounced their representative Shamcey Supsup as 3rd runner-up. A good way to go for the Filipina beauty as the legacy continues.And also this year, Philippines will be represented by the 23 year old beauty Queen from Bataan, Janine Tugonon. Janine Marie Tugonon was first joined in Bb. Pilipinas 2011 where she ended as 1st runner up of Shamcey Supsup. Not that lucky on her first attempt, Tugonon made a decision to join again and this time she hit the mark and successfully won the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2012 crown gaining her way to the upcoming Miss Universe 2012 pageant. She has a degree in Pharmaceutical Technology and graduated in Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas with Cum Laude honors. She also attended Ballet lessons which gave her the flexibility on some interpretative dances and on her recent known “Cobra-walk”.
Joining other delegates, Janine is expected to be in Las Vegas this December for the MU 2012 Pageant. Throughout the local pageant, I call Tugonon as the Q&A front-runner because of her well instituted answers on various questions. She is indeed articulate which will be a great part on her success of granted. on the coronation night, Jose Manuel Romualdez asked Tugonon the question: “Many women nowadays forego a happy family life for a successful career. How do you feel about this?”
Tugonon replied: “I think that women have the right to choose between what they want. But for me, you’ll have to go for what God has called you to do, whatever it is, between your two. You must do what your purpose is in this world. Just have a child-like faith and mature obedience, and everything should go smooth.”, Tugonon said.
